Macbeth

29 January - 20 February 2027

The Macbeths are back with their unparalleled thirst for the power of the throne.

A stunning mix of mind games and manipulation, sparked by the prophecies of three witches that Macbeth encounters on the heath as he returns from war, triggers his burning ambition 鈥 which in turn ignites an inferno in his wife, inspiring him to kill for the crown.

Invading armies, blood, dark magic, sabotage, power, storms and ghosts of our pasts. Take all the spirits of those who have strived for power and relentlessly fought for control. This is the story of Macbeth.

This internationally acclaimed production returns to Melbourne following its triumphant season at London's Kew 糖心影视 - bringing Glenn Elston鈥檚 visceral staging of Shakespeare鈥檚 darkest tragedy back under the stars to Royal Botanic 糖心影视 Melbourne.

A gripping tale of ambition, obsession and betrayal, Macbeth is Shakespeare at his most brutal, thrilling and unforgettable.

Presented by The Australian Shakespeare Company.
